April 2nd-TECH?

Hello all.

Given scheduling conflicts, I would really like to do tech the day of the show. We do have all week to be in the space, so Dan and I will build a stage and set lights the week of. Liz can come in at her leisure and get situated and anyone else who wants to view the space is free to do so. Then on Saturday (day of the show) we would meet around 11am to run the show once and meet back there to perform that evening.

This will require that I see everyone's numbers BEFORE tech so that if something needs to be re-worked it can be. I know that sometimes people leave feeling like their concepts need to be re-worked, so doing it this way would mean people have to be solid.

I'd like input, please. Thanks!

Kristina

April show DEADLINES!!!!

Hello all!

I need your songs for the April show by Friday, March 18th and I need full song concepts emailed or otherwise explained to me by March 25th.

I still haven't heard back from most people about when they are available for rehearsal. If I don't get more conflicts I'll have to set the date and assume you can make whatever I decide.

Thanks, ladies.

April Deadlines!

Hello bodies!

Our April line up consists of:
Victoria (2)
Sadie (2)
Penny (1)
Nada (2)
Paige (2)
Queen Pillowtop (2)
And, of course, Mickey as your Emcee!

Next to your name is a number and that reflects how many numbers you have to do. Penny has requested only one for this show. If anyone would like to take more, please say so! I think Queen Pillowtop would prefer to only have 1 number. This show could stand to be a bit longer - Dean and I are talking about adding some bits or another round of the burlesque game to lengthen it without requiring more of the dancers. For now, start with this and let me know if you would like to take on more. Please, no more than 3 numbers a person.

We have the space at Buckham for a whole week before the show. Let's take advantage of that by meeting for at least one rehearsal prior to tech. This will be a great time to give feedback and there will be plenty of time for you to tweak your act. I'll be getting out the exact schedule ASAP so send conflicts for the week prior to April 2nd.

We have Arlow Xan opening for us! Should be a great show. Remember our theme is 'Strong Women in Music'. The title lends itself to something more serious, but remember - comedy really runs the machine that we've built. Don't forget to add that in whenever possible.

I'd really like everyone to focus on high glamour for these shows. I think it helps make the distinction between burlesque and theatre. Give yourself plenty of time to get your look down on show day. It's really important to help the audience separate you from your character.
